The idea that one day we would travel extensively through South America together has been at the back of our minds for many years. However, due to professional and personal obligations, it was never the right time to move forwards with the project. A lightbulb went off during our trip to Namibia in 2017. This country is one of the most beautiful and inspiring places we ever visited. We met many friendly and kind people and were in awe of the majestic beauty of the nature and the landscapes which constantly changed as we moved from one region to another. The colors were so unusual and astounding, almost improbable in some places. Perhaps the most eye-opening experience for us was the way we travelled. We rented a 4-wheel drive truck with a tent on the roof and camping equipment, and planned our own itinerary. The feeling of independence and freedom that we experienced won us over. 4 weeks and 6000 km later we were convinced. Even before the end of our trip we knew that South America would not be far around the corner, and perhaps even more importantly, we knew how we would be travelling. As soon as we got home, Laurent occupied most of his free time researching the perfect truck for the adventure: https://onzroad.fr/pimp-my-ride
